1. What is the purpose of the church???
a) Church is to glorify God
- share Christ to the community
- serve the greatest commandment
- testify the name of Jesus through our word and deeds (1 Peter 2:4-10)
- become living testimony for Jesus





b) Church is to grow
- here is not emphesis on the numbers (than what is the purpose for HLLC???)
- Church is like an organism, a living entity which can grow
- to attain full measure of Christ
- to be in unity in faith and knowledge
* a church can grow rapidlly only if there is unity among all the members and the ministry
* for example, is the youth ministry grow very fast, however the church is not growing, it will create a tension because the ministry cant "sync" with the church





c) to edify
- edification here is not about self edification but rather "church (group of people)" edification





2. Spiritual growth of an individual is important, however the growth of CHURCH is equally vital
a) if only a person grow, the CHURCH is not growing there is no impact





b) a group of poor football team with lack of teamwork and with only a star striker, i dont think this team can excel





c) Hence a church must move and grow with a team





3. A CHURCH is to gather together to give each other
a) apostle and prophet - fundamental of the church
b) pastor and teacher - to care and to direct the church
c) evengelist - to share the word of God
d) a CHURCH cant grow with only these few people, but all of us with different gifting and character is the major factor and source to grow the CHURCH
e) all of us have a role to play and to contribute in the growth of the CHURCH






4. So what is our role???
