Month of Joy

Well, my very first post, although being a system admin of the site.. Kekeke... Let's do a recap shall we? We've gone through the movie "Patch Adams" and what can we learn from that movie? Quite a lot actually... With regards to joy? Well, I will just repeat what I've shared earlier in the ICU (well, modified version).

Scenario 1:
You had a great day. Your parent decided to give you an extra RM50 for you to spend this week. And so you come to Phos on Sat nite, happy and thinking you can have a good mamak session afterwards. When you reach there, the first person you see is me. Yes, me. And I had a very very bad day. So, I decided not to be nice and be miserable.

You say "Hi! Doug!". Guess what?

I replied "What do you want??" in the most mean and miserable voice.

How do you think you would respond? I'm guessing the "miserable-ness" might have transferred to you. And if you get miserable, the next person who gets in contact with you will get infected as well.

Scenario2:
You had a bad day. Your parent decided to cut your allowance by RM50 for this week cause you didn't sleep the whole night while trying to level up your character online. And so you come to Phos on Sat nite, feel moody. Well, you didn't almost wanted to come. When you reach there, the first person you see is me.

Yes, me. And I had a very, very bad day as well. But, I decided not to be miserable and trust God with my problem. Instead of being Mr. Grumpy, I chose to ask from God for some joy in the midst of the cloudy skies.

And so, when you saw me, I said "Wazzzaaaaap!!!" and put on the most charming and nice smile you have ever seen on my face.

Guess what? Your "miserable-ness" have vanish for that split second. And if continue to cheerfully talk to you the next 2 minutes, you would have been infected with the joy as well. Suddenly, your missing RM50 seems a bit lesser of a burden during that time. And if you choose to carry that joy with you, you're gonna bless the next person as well.

You know what is the one thing that other people notice about Christians? It's their joy that makes a difference. So, what do you do choose today? Be clouded with the problems of your life? Or put it in God's hands and let Him give you joy in return to spread it to others...
